Are Landing Pages Effective And Do They Really Work?

You can’t look anywhere online without stumbling into a fancy landing page. So why is it that so many online marketers are using landing pages?

Well, there’s a reason for their madness, and that’s what I’m going to talk about in this article.

Are Landing Pages Effective?

are landing pages effective

Landing pages are most certainly effective, as they provide many great features and perks for marketers who are looking to grow their businesses.

This is coming from many years of using them, too. Plus, it would be pretty funny if 1,000s of marketers were using landing pages if they weren’t so successful. Don’t forget about plenty of the landing page software companies, as many of them seem to be booming.

What Makes A Landing Page Effective?

Landing pages are effective for many reasons, but especially for the fact that they allow you to generate leads, makes sales, and so much more.

It’s pretty easy to find landing pages nowadays. Just click on an advertisement and you’ll most likely stumble upon one.

But why is it that so many marketers prefer using landing pages? Can’t they just use a website instead?

They certainly can, but landing pages have the upper hand when it comes to marketing overall. Websites are going to be great for writing articles, blogging, and SEO.

Landing pages, on the other hand, have a very big upper hand. Let’s talk a little bit more about why landing pages can be so effective.

1) Landing Pages Have One Main Goal

Landing pages are very effective, and that’s a big very thanks to the fact that they focus on one main goal. Well, let me take a step back first.

Landing pages can focus on as many goals as you like, but that’s not something that you want to consider. Some of the best landing pages will focus on only one thing at a time, like:

  • Making sales.
  • Generating leads.
  • Or taking any other type of important action.

Let’s compare landing pages to websites very quickly. It shouldn’t take too long to figure out the big differences between both of the assets. Websites, for the most part, have a ton going on at once. In other words, they come with many more distractions. It’s just the nature of the beast.

When you think about it, websites can come with:

  • Articles to read (just like this one) plus many other related articles.
  • Plenty of menus with dropdowns for related categories to visit.
  • Advertising banners (I use those myself).
  • Affiliate links (guilty as charged, again)!
  • Popups, sticky bars, etc.
  • Videos playing.

The fact of the matter is that there are so many distractions when it comes to visiting a website. Imagine trying to make a sale when you have all of the distractions being fired off?

Compare all of those distractions to a landing page that is looking to make a sale. Everything that is on the page is geared towards helping you make a sale. Examples of that can be:

  • Popups or sticky bars that direct to the checkout page.
  • A big benefit-enriched headline.
  • Add to cart buttons.
  • Sales copy.

All in all, landing pages are much more simple. While they might come along with advanced features (which I’ll talk a little about next), they are very effective when it comes to reaching your marketing goals.

2) Landing Pages Can Overall Boost Your Marketing

Aside from the ability to generate leads and make sales, landing pages are effective because they can do a whole lot for your marketing and overall online business. Here are a few other great perks that can come with landing pages:

  • Split-testing.
  • Increase brand awareness.
  • Increase your credibility and expertise.
  • Analyze data and statistics to make calculated decisions.
  • Use tracking pixels to retarget traffic that didn’t convert at first.
  • Send a large volume of traffic to your landing pages (this fluctuates a lot).
  • Utilize popups and sticky bars for getting more clicks, leads, as well as sales.

Keep in mind that every landing page software is going to come with different perks and prices. If you are interested in a solid landing page builder, you can check out the pricing of Unbounce here as they come with quite a lot of features.

That’s just the tip of the landing page iceberg, too. If you’re knowledgeable in how to drive traffic to your landing pages, then having landing pages to assist you can certainly be like getting a nice little marketing advantage.

Do Landing Pages Work? Final Thoughts

Not only do landing pages work, but they work very well, especially if you drive targeted traffic to the perfect type of offer that they are looking for.

So here is something that I want to end with. There are always a few people who say that landing pages don’t work, heck they will say anything doesn’t work nowadays (I guess people love complaining online nowadays).

The fact of the matter is the landing page is almost never the problem, it’s the user. It’s the marketing, it’s the targeting, it’s the traffic, it’s the offer, it’s the price, it’s the headline and about 100 other different factors.

It’s just about never the landing page’s fault, unless, of course, it takes 20 seconds to load. That’s never a good thing.

So keep this in mind, especially if you are newer when it comes to using landing pages for your online marketing.

While I’ve talked a lot about the great benefits and perks of landing pages, you have to be able to get the rest of the details correct. So before you start putting your landing page(s) together, please keep in mind:

  • What is your main goal is?
  • Who is your perfect audience?
  • What’s your plan for getting your sales copy done?
  • How do you plan on sending traffic to your landing page(s)?
  • What is your offer and will your audience crawl through glass to get it?

These are things that you will ultimately figure out while you dive deeper into the process. So please know that you don’t have to know all of these answers before you begin, but the more you know, the more it will help.

Thanks for taking the time to read more about the almighty landing page and how it can help you build and grow your online business. I hope that you got some type of value out of this article.
