ClickFunnels Vs Mailchimp (Biggest Differences)

In this article, I’m going to be comparing ClickFunnels vs Mailchimp.

There’s quite a bit to cover, too.

I imagine you’re pretty busy so let’s get right on into the good stuff.

ClickFunnels Vs MailChimp Introduction

So here is the big difference between these two tools:

  • ClickFunnels is mostly focused on sales funnels and landing pages.
  • Mailchimp is mostly focused on email marketing.

But keep in mind the key phrase: mostly.

Each of these tools also comes along with many more features.

Those that I will be comparing in this post starting with landing pages.

Landing Pages Comparison

You probably could have already guessed this, but here it is:

ClickFunnels is the winner when it comes to the landing pages department.

Anywho.

Let’s take a look at a few reasons why starting with templates.

Here is a quick look at some of the Mailchimp templates for landing pages:

mailchimp templates

At the time of writing this, there were a total of 8 templates to choose from.

Better than nothing, I suppose.

And when you compare Mailchimp to ClickFunnels with their templates?

There’s well over 100 to choose from (just for lead generation pages).

You can see a nice sales letter template in the picture right down below.

So there are plenty more templates to choose from (which happen to look better too).

While I’m big on simple landing pages, having a few extra spiffy pages can be a perk.

Let’s take a quick look at the editor’s starting with Mailchimp:

mailchimp editor

Like many editors on the market, Mailchimp comes along with a drag-and-drop interface.

Not too shabby.

It’s not the most difficult editor in the world to use and that’s always a good thing.

  • Simply click on something that you want to edit.
  • And then edit it or add to it (and then repeat the process).

Here is what you can drag into your Mailchimp landing pages:

  • Text.
  • Videos.
  • Images.
  • Buttons.
  • Dividers.
  • Payments.

And a bunch more.

Here is a quick look at the ClickFunnels drag and drop editor as well:

clickfunnels drag and drop

Similar in nature, but I’d have to say that it’s overall simpler to use (made for dummies)!

Here are a few features that you can accommodate with ClickFunnels landing pages:

  • Benefit lists.
  • Inserting files.
  • Bump offers (on checkout pages).

Don’t forget about the standard landing page options as well:

  • Text.
  • Videos.
  • Pictures.
  • Buttons (even for payments).

And much more as well.

All in all.

ClickFunnels is a stellar choice when it comes to creating landing pages and sales funnels.

Now let’s switch things up in this Mailchimp vs ClickFunnels comparison.

Email Marketing Comparison

You probably could have already guessed this (as well), but here it is:

Mailchimp is the winner when it comes to the email marketing department.

After all.

Mailchimp’s primary focus is on email marketing and that’s going to be hard to beat.

Here is a look inside the broadcast email editor for Mailchimp:

clickfunnels or mailchimp

It’s simple and also similar to the drag-and-drop section for landing pages.

I always prefer using blank and clean email templates…

And that’s exactly what you see in the picture screenshot above.

Here is the inside of what ClickFunnels Actionetics looks like (when preparing an email):

I feel that ClickFunnels works a little too hard when it comes to editing emails…

As I’d rather have that type of flexibility when it comes to landing pages.

Mailchimp also allows for other email marketing related features such as:

  • Broadcasts (obviously).
  • Sending automated or regular emails to contacts.
  • Postcards which is something that I’ve never seen before.

However, the only flaw (to me) for Mailchimp is they don’t allow affiliate marketing emails.

This won’t be a flaw for non-affiliate marketers…

But it’s going to be something to consider if you plan on recommending offers (like Clickbank).

So in my opinion when it comes to ClickFunnels?

Actionetics (their email marketing tool) was something that I never really enjoyed using…

And I love them for their ability to creating amazing landing pages and sales funnels.

ClickFunnels Vs Mailchimp Cost Comparison

So the ClickFunnels plans are pretty straightforward compared to Mailchimp:

  • ClickFunnels basic is $97 monthly.
  • ClickFunnels Platinum is $297 monthly (this plan comes with Actionetics).

There’s going to be more perks that come along with each plan as well.

Plus, there’s a couple of ways to save on ClickFunnels if you pay more upfront.

Now onto Mailchimp:

  • The Free account is $0 (obviously).
  • The Essential plan starts at $9.99 per month.
  • The Standard plan starts at $14.99 per month.
  • The Premium plan starts at $299.00 per month.

Once again, the keyword here is starts.

These plans will greatly fluctuate in price depending on how many subscribers you have.

Nevertheless.

Both come with the ability to try out their tool for free.

That should give you a good idea of how much you’d be investing in Mailchimp though.

So now that we’ve compared landing pages, email marketing, and prices?

Let’s wrap up this Mailchimp vs ClickFunnels blog post.

ClickFunnels Vs MailChimp Conclusion

clickfunnels vs mailchimp

So here is a big difference (again) between these two tools:

  • ClickFunnels is mostly focused on sales funnels and landing pages.
  • Mailchimp is mostly focused on email marketing.

With that being said?

Here is my recommendation:

Use Mailchimp If

  • You just flat-out want an email marketing tool.
  • You don’t plan on doing any type of affiliate marketing.

Reminder: Mailchimp doesn’t allow affiliate marketing with their company.

Then on the other side of the equation.

Use ClickFunnels If

  • You’re looking to build and creating landing pages and sales funnels.
  • You want all of the great features that come with them (order bumps, 1-click upsells, etc).

ClickFunnels also comes along with a free 14-day trial as well:

So that’s the conclusion when it comes to the battle of ClickFunnels vs Mailchimp.

It’s pretty straightforward, but I hope that it gave you some insight when it comes to choosing.
