ClickFunnels Vs ActiveCampaign Introduction
One important thing before I begin.
I recorded a quick video for you about this specific topic.
Feel free to watch that video below if you’d like the quicker cliff notes:
It’s a pretty fast video being only 2 minutes and 42 seconds long.
Down below is the ClickFunnels link that I was talking about:
Let’s start this comparison post with ClickFunnels.
ClickFunnels is the perfect example of a software that is currently hot (popularity-wise).
This software currently has over 100,000 customers and they are perfect for:
- Building and growing your online biz with landing pages and sales funnels.
They do much more than that too.
Let’s talk about their landing pages, sales funnels, and a few more features.
Landing Pages & Sales Funnels… Oh My!
Aside from that fact that ClickFunnels has well over one-hundred thousand customers…
Their ability to create simple landing pages and sales funnels is hard to beat.
I have done quite a few posts about comparing their landing pages to:
- A popular landing page builder.
- Another email marketing company.
- An all-in-one online business platform.
- Another all-in-one business building platform.
And a few more too:
- All about landing pages.
- A popular WordPress plugin for landing pages.
- This landing page builder that came out in 2009.
- Another sales funnel builder with tons of features.
I think you get the idea…
But here is an example of a landing page template that comes from ClickFunnels:
Above is an example of a simple lead generation page (check out more templates here).
With ClickFunnels also comes many more templates for:
- Sales letters.
- Download or thank you pages.
- Membership pages (IMNights post about them).
- And a bunch more too (they’re all simple to create).
In fact, here is another great example of a webinar template that they have:
I think you get the idea…
But here is the main point when it comes to landing pages and this comparison.
ClickFunnels is the easy winner when it comes to landing pages and funnels.
ActiveCampaign isn’t about that life (more on them pretty soon though).
Here is something else that makes ClickFunnels worth the time, effort, and overall money.
Selling Products, Offers, & Even Services
If you were looking to sell any type of product, offer, or service (even as an affiliate)?
ClickFunnels would certainly be beneficial for you as you can create checkout pages too.
And while there might be better shopping carts?
ClickFunnels is still great at keeping the process as simple as possible.
Related IMNights Post: CF compared to a shopping cart software.
Here is an example of a very simple checkout page that converted nicely for me:
Another brilliant feature would be the offer bumps (full tutorial here).
You can see it in the picture above where it says:
Yes! I want access for only $19 extra.
It’s an easy way to increase your sales while your customers just have to check off a box.
Here is one more example when it comes to a ClickFunnels two-step order form:
I think you get the idea by now.
These are the types of features that ActiveCampaign can’t really compete with…
Given the fact that they are 100% focused on email marketing.
Here’ss something that’s comparable when it comes to ActiveCampaign Vs ClickFunnels.
Actionetics is known as the email marketing tool that comes with ClickFunnels Platinum.
Note: ClickFunnels Platinum costs $297 per month (more details in this IMNights post).
Another Note: I’ll talk more about the prices very soon.
Actionetics is big on creating follow-up funnels where they allow you to send:
- Direct mail.
- Text messages.
- And a bunch more.
Actionetics also comes with a drag-and-drop builder when it comes to sending emails:
There are other helpful features that include:
- Action scored of your subscribers (the higher the better).
- Stats like opens, clicks, bounced, unsubscribed, and complaints (yikes).
In my opinion though?
It’s not the greatest aspect of ClickFunnels which is why I don’t have ClickFunnels Platinum.
But how does Actionetics compare to the email marketing features of ActiveCampaign?
That will be the first thing I talk about after we cover the costs of using this software.
How Much Is ClickFunnels Going To Be?
The pricing is pretty simple when it comes to this sales funnel software.
Here are the two plans that they currently offer:
- ClickFunnels (basic) comes out to $97 per month.
- ClickFunnels Platinum comes out to $297 per month.
And don’t forget.
You need to get the ClickFunnels Platinum plan in order to use their email marketing tool.
There are also two more ways to save money on ClickFunnels which I’ll down below:
- Related: Must-see Isolated Marketing Nights post.
- Related: Isolated Marketing Nights post about saving money.
Also, something that you probably already knew about.
They do come along with the ability to get a free trial for fourteen long days.
And last but not least?

So that’s ClickFunnels.
Let’s flip the script now when it comes to ClickFunnels vs ActiveCampaign.
As you can see from the image above, ActiveCampaign is all about:
Turning leads into customers and into repeat customers.
And you’ll be able to do this thanks to their power email marketing and marketing automation.
Let’s talk a little bit about those features now.
All About Email Marketing
ActiveCampaign certainly takes the spotlight when it comes to email marketing.
Just in case you’re on mobile and you can’t see the text in the picture above?
With ActiveCampaign you can send:
- Targeted emails.
- Triggered emails.
- Broadcast emails.
- Scheduled emails.
- Email autoresponders.
You can even utilize the email funnels as well (similar to what Actionetics does).
There’s plenty of goals that you can choose from when it comes to using ActiveCampaign.
That’s one of the first things that they help you with when it comes to signing up:
Build and send more targeted, segmented emails is always a great choice.
ActiveCampaign also comes with 34 email templates that can make your life slightly easier.
I’m always a fan of starting from scratch as I don’t like using a ton of images in my emails.
Here are a few examples of the templates that come along with ActiveCampaign:
There’s a lot to like when it comes to ActiveCampaign email marketing.
- Split testing.
- Dynamic content.
- Email segmentation.
- Even subscription forms.
I guess you could say that subscription forms are somewhat similar to landing pages…
But they just can’t be compared to ClickFunnels (when it comes to just landing pages).
As it states on the ActiveCampaign automation page:
Automation handles what no one else has time for.
I couldn’t agree with this anymore, especially when it comes to their automation campaigns.
Take a look at just how many automation recipes that you can choose from down below:
Do you see how small that drag bar is in the right of the picture?
There are SO MANY automation recipes that you can choose from.
You can even create your own or even import an automation recipe if you like.
For this example, I selected Part 1 – Engagement Tagging.
Here is what it looks like down below:
The first part of the process is adding a start trigger which can include:
- Visting a website.
- Submitting a form.
- Opening or reading an email.
- Clicking on a link inside an email.
- Subscribing (or unsubscribing) from a list.
And there are a ton more ways to initially start a trigger (those are just a few popular ways).
After that, you’ll be able to add tags based upon engagement and activity.
Special Note: For this automation, you will also need to use the Part 2 automation as well.
You get the idea though.
I like to consider this portion of ActiveCampaign as:
Consider these advanced features and perks splashed with a dash of simplicity.
There’s much more that you can do when it comes to automation as well:
- Site and event tracking.
- Automation goals and maps.
- Don’t forget about attribution and split action.
But that should allow you a good idea of what ActiveCampaign when it comes to both:
- Email marketing.
Here’s the popular question that usually gets asked when it comes to this email marketing tool.
How Much Is ActiveCampaign Going To Be?
This is going to depend on how many contacts you have…
But here are the prices for just getting started and having up to 500 contacts:
- Lite is $15 per month.
- Plus is $70 per month.
- Professional is $159 per month.
- Enterprise is going to be $279 per month.
Keep in mind that prices can change depending on two factors:
- If you have more subscribers.
- You pay monthly or annually (annually saves you money).
So that’s ActiveCampaign.
Let’s finish up this comparison post when it comes to ClickFunnels and ActiveCampaign.
